The Monroe Soil and Water Conservation District was organized in 1942 as the 9th district in Ohio. Their purpose is to develop and implement programs for the conservation of soil, water, and related resources.
MSWCD is a legal entity of the state and is administered by a five-member Board of Supervisors who serve staggered three year terms. It obtains funds the state and local governments. These funds support staff, offices, and equipment necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.
Technical, educational, and program development support is received from USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, as well as numerous other local, state, and federal agencies.
